NP Dorothy Chiabi Forchu

My name is Dorothy Chiabi Forchu and I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) licensed and nationally board certified to provide psychiatric care for patients with mental illness.

As a nurse practitioner, I am qualified in planning and evaluation of mental health conditions across the lifespan, educating patients and families, diagnosing, treating, and managing acute illness, prescribing medication for acute and chronic illness, providing care coordination, making referrals, ordering, performing, and interpreting lab tests and many more.

I practice in a variety of settings as an interdependent member of the health care team, collaborating with other health professionals to provide mental health care services across the lifespan. 

Having practiced in the mental health setting for over fifteen years, I have acquired advanced knowledge and clinical skills in psychiatric-mental health. I am passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services across the lifespan. My strong clinical skills enhanced by natural ability to build rapport with patients and families is a great strength. In practice, I follow evidence-based guidelines blended with clinical experience, personal observation, and intuition to treat my patients
